A Brief History Of Linking Leeds

Linking Leeds was formed on 1st September 2019. Before this there were 3 separate services in Leeds. They were put together under one new contract, commissioned by the NHS Clinical Commission Group. Many of the staff who worked within the 3 services came across to work as part of Linking Leeds.

Our First Year

A lot happened in our first year including the Covid-19 pandemic. This meant a lot of our service delivery had to change; instead of working within our surgeries we moved to supporting people ‘virtually’ via phone and video calls.

This time presented lots of challenges but we are proud to say we continued to deliver a full service. We also offered extra support by making calls to those who were vulnerable due to the effects of the disease as well as volunteering our staff time to work in the vaccination clinics

- something we are really proud of.

Returning to normal

We continued to recruit new staff and by 2021 had a full staff team. During 2021 we are working towards returning to face-to-face delivery.

We are working with our surgeries and where they have space for us, we will return to working in the surgery some of the week. We will use public spaces, museums, galleries etc to connect with the people of Leeds.
